11 Exhibition

Our exhibition is less then a month from now.. and yes I'm getting nervous!
I've always been thinking ... How can we link everything into ONE and sending the same message at the same time... What can I do to help the exhibition.. there're so many ideas and stuffs from all the members.

Then this inspired me ~
Everything came along and came to an idea ..
*which I'll be discussing with everyone tomorrow*

I'm in charge for designing the booklet.
My first idea was to have a booklet which also brings the idea of 'canvas'.. since in our exhibition will exhibit a creative collaboration from all the members and form a master piece~
In the booklet will have 13 square cards, each cards feature the artwork that is painted on the actual canvas.
This was coming along as a good idea.. but then something came along .. budget!
I bet these kind of printing will cost like hell .. and we're out of sponsorship.. yea all on our own.

So I have the other idea was, we'll print it as normal booklet, but in the booklet there'll be a 'collection' page. Then, minimized size of of everyone's canvas artwork will be placed at respective booth. I guess it'll be fun for the guest to actually collects artwork from everyone and forms the master piece.. haha
Well, it's still an idea, will promote it to lect and class tomorrow too~

Next, this thing has been bugging me for a very very long time. The logo.
*it'll be very nagging .. but please bare with me..
The logo was done as our first assignment for the exhibition.
Truthfully, it looked more like a sponsorship/company logo than our exhibition logo.
I'm not bashing about the design manner of the logo.
Yes, it's a well design logo.. with the crisp and strong look.
but the problem is .. it doesn't fit any concept of the exhibition.. nor it has any elements then represent our exhibition.
We doesn't noticed the problem until we start designing stuffs for the exhibition and exposing more into the concept and idea for our exhibition, Vertex.

Comment from lecturer is that we have to sulk up with it and continue working with that logo.
In future we can't just complain about how the clients logo design doesn't fit with our print design and stuffs.
Yes, it's true I agree. But this is totally another case.

We're now as designers, designing logo for our exhibition. Now that we've notice that there's problems popping out and the current design doesn't fit the concept of our exhibition... then aren't we suppose to change it?
It's not what we meant that it's hard to fit the logo into our design, but it's that the logo design that doesn't relate or reflect to any part us or our exhibition.
The logo was designed as the first task, and during that time we're only able to get the meaning and idea of the name, Vertex.
It's through times and many research and discussion that we come to understand more and building a stronger idea and concept of our exhibition.

I really do not wish just by the logo it ruined the whole part of our VERTEX exhibition.

Probably we'll still start going on with our stuffs and maybe a better logo design will eventually formed,
and by that time we'll propose again to lecturer~
